LiveScanMap is a map of Live Scan and fingerprinting locations across 18 US states — Alaska, Arkansas, California, District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and Wyoming — with 3,610 listings across 359 counties and county-equivalents.

Where the data comes from

Every listing originates from the authoritative source for the state it's in — the state's own approved-provider list where the state maintains one, or the state's formal enrollment partner where it doesn't. We re-read those sources every week and keep every field they publish, including ones we don't have a dedicated place for.

• Alaska — 20 locations, sourced from Alaska Department of Public Safety.
• Arkansas — 80 locations, sourced from Arkansas State Police, Identification Bureau (AFIS).
• California — 2,213 locations, sourced from California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General.
• District of Columbia — 1 location, sourced from Metropolitan Police Department, Civilian Fingerprint Section.
• Delaware — 4 locations, sourced from Delaware State Police, State Bureau of Identification.
• Maryland — 141 locations, sourced from Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, Criminal Justice Information Services.
• Maine — 4 locations, sourced from Maine State Police, State Bureau of Identification.
• Michigan — 71 locations, sourced from Michigan State Police, Criminal Justice Information Center.
• Montana — 2 locations, sourced from Montana Department of Justice, Criminal Records and Identification Services.
• North Dakota — 9 locations, sourced from North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services.
• Nebraska — 36 locations, sourced from Nebraska State Patrol, Criminal Identification Division.
• New Hampshire — 11 locations, sourced from New Hampshire State Police, Criminal Records Unit.
• Nevada — 52 locations, sourced from Nevada Department of Public Safety.
• Ohio — 888 locations, sourced from Ohio Attorney General, Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI).
• Rhode Island — 7 locations, sourced from Rhode Island Attorney General, Bureau of Criminal Identification.
• Utah — 52 locations, sourced from Utah Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
• Vermont — 18 locations, sourced from Vermont Crime Information Center, Department of Public Safety.
• Wyoming — 1 location, sourced from Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.

We add coordinates (state lists rarely include them, which is why they can't show you a map), parse opening hours so you can filter by what's open now, and let verified owners keep their own details current.

Accuracy

Listings can drift between our weekly refreshes — a location can close, move, or change hours in the space of a week. Contact the provider to confirm hours and appointment availability before visiting, especially for the sites that don't publish a phone number or online booker.

Rolling fees in particular drift — they're set by each provider, not the state. Treat the figure shown as a guide and confirm when you call. The rolling fee is also only the provider's portion; state and federal background-check fees are separate and depend on the program you're being cleared for.
